Our Lady of Guadalupe: December 12th, 2022

Our Lady of Guadalupe: December 12th, 2022

It’s one of the biggest days of the year for us here at Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary! We enjoyed the annual festivities—our Lady’s altar decorated with beautiful bouquets of flowers; Marian hymns sung late into the night the eve of the feast; a lovely Solemn High Mass the morning of; Pontifical Vespers with Bishop Conley and the seminarians of Saint Greg’s in the evening; and, to top it all off, a fiesta complete with tacos, a mariachi band, and a piñata.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of our seminary & Patroness of the Americas, pray for us.

“Rorate caeli desuper, et nubes pluant justum. Aperiatur terra, et germinet salvatorem.”

Drop down dew, ye heavens, and let the clouds rain down the just one. May the earth open up, and bud forth the savior.

From the Rorate Mass of the first Saturday of Advent.

Procession for 40 Hours Devotion: November 28th, 2022

Procession for 40 Hours Devotion: November 28th, 2022

Here at the seminary, we began Advent with the 40 Hours Devotion. Spending this time with our Lord in Adoration was the perfect way to enter into the new liturgical year, and to begin this season of preparation and expectation. As we approach Christmas in four weeks’ time, may we be ceaselessly preparing for the coming of our Savior.

“May we receive, O Lord, Thy mercy in the midst of Thy temple, that we may prepare with due honor for the approaching feast of our redemption.”

(Post Communion from the First Sunday of Advent)
